Elizabeth Garton, APRN - Elizabeth Garton joined the staff of LCMHS on February 17th, 2015. Elizabeth (Liz) is an APRN and will be providing psychiatric medical services to adult clients of Labette Center through the use of telemedicine. This form of care is provided using video capabilities for the practitioner and client to work together from different locations. A Southeast Kansas native, Liz grew up with a strong work ethic which was instilled in her and her four brothers by their parents. They were taught the importance of helping others as well as being loyal and honest. She went on to learn additional leadership skills and responsibility through 4-H while she was a member throughout childhood and into her teenage years. Liz has worked in the mental health field since 1999, shortly after receiving her RN degree. In 2007 she obtained her Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner degree from Wichita State and then went on to receive her Board Certification for that degree. Liz and her husband of 28 years enjoy spending their time going to antique shops, traveling, and visiting wineries on the weekend. They also greatly enjoy spending time with their two adult children and their families, including 2 amazing grandchildren as well as their miniature horses.
