The Association of Community Mental Health Center's of Kansas was selected as a National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) Outreach Partner for 2012 through 2014 for the state of Kansas. The Association joins a nationwide network of 55 mental health organizations that disseminate research from NIMH about the causes, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental disorders, and promote public involvement in research studies.
The Association will share information with military members, veterans and families about the help that is available in Kansas for reintegration, mental health, and substance abuse issues for our returning veterans and families. The CMHCs will reach out to service members and families and disseminate information statewide about treatment options that are in place for our military members and families in Kansas.
The Association of community Mental Health Centers of Kansas Inc., advances the interest of Community Mental Health Centers and the individuals they serve. Towards this end, the Association provides legislative representation, offers leadership and professional education, highlights model practices and programs, and identifies resources for addressing the challenges faced by local mental health authorities.
