Monica Simpson, Administrative Assistant/Public Relations Specialist - joined the staff at LCMHS in 2004 as a front desk receptionist. In April of 2008, she became the Administrative Assistant/Public Relations & Marketing person for Labette Center. Born in Northwest Arkansas, her family moved to southeast Kansas where she then spent most of her school age years in St. Paul. Upon graduation from high school, she left to attend Fort Hays State University. She returned to the area in 2001, and completred her bachelor's degree at Pittsburg State University in 2004. In 2014 She received a Master's in Liberal Studies, specializing in Social Networking from Fort Hays State University. Simpson and her family currently reside in Southeast KS. In 2009 she participated in, and graduated from, the Leadership Parsons 2008-2009 Class. Simpson is a member of Soroptomist International and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. Simpson became a Certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor in March of 2013 and a Certified Youth Mental Health First Aid Instructor in May of 2013. In 2019 she went on to become an instructor for the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. Monica became a QPR Gatekeeper and instructor in November of 2024.
